Obesity Virus
It is almost unbelievable, but catching obesity may be akin to catching the common cold.
A researcher from India found that Aadenovirus 36 and Adenovirus 37 are responsible for creating larger fat cells and for creating more fat cells. The virus is found in 30% of obese people and only in 11% of lean people.
Nikhil Dhurandhar, PhD, Indian researcher, became interested in the virus after noticing that some chickens became fatter right before they died. He then looked for a similar virus in humans to discover Adenovirus 36&37 and five other fat causing viruses.
