Fat Family in Front of Fast Food Background

Chips and Fries

Chips and fries have intense calories and little to no nutritional value. They will make you obese, but the worst part about them is the acrylamide?

Acrylamide Causes Cancer

Arcrylamide is a chemical used to manufacure plastics, dyes, and chemicals. It is a white odorless chemical that is also found in foods that are cooked at high temperature.

Scientists have proven that acrylamide causes cancer in laboratory rats and nerve damage in humans. What they don't know is how much can we eat without being harmed?

The FDA became largely concerned about this problem in 2002. So far, the problem is mostly just being studied. There have been no actions to eliminate this deadly chemical.

Attorney General Bill Lockyer, of California, has created a stir. He is suing the manufacturers of potato chips and french fries and requiring them to label their food as a potential carcinogen. According to California law, specifically proposition 65, consumers must be disclosed information about potential carcinogens.

It's great that someone is fighting for the rights of consumers.
